Identification of bed bugs is very important. Here are some key points which will help you in the process.

1. Bedbugs are small wingless bugs light yellow in color and sometimes a bit darker if they have feasted on blood already. They are not more than 1/2″ in size and it is very easy to spot them between sheets in the middle of night.

2. You can find them during the day as well if you carefully look under mattress folds, in mattress seams, between bedposts, behind headboards, in pillow cases, on nightstands or any other object which are in close proximity to the bed.

3. Cracks and crevices near or in the bed are the favorite dwelling spots of bed bugs. They leave their trail as blood droplets on sheets or sometimes dark dots of feces. If you can smell their odor then be prepared to find a large infestation of bugs.

4. Another way to identify these bugs is to find bite marks or red itchy bumps on your body especially the stomach, which appear only after you go to bed. Such a bite is different from the bites of others bugs because it looks like a small welt and it itches and burns. To prevent it from getting worse you need to cleanse it with soap and water and then apply an anti-itch cream.

Bed bugs can be identified with the bed bugs bites.
